5.3 MWh Energy Storage System
For Van Tuijl Feed Enrichment in Opheusden, we implemented an energy storage system consisting of two battery containers, each with a capacity of 2 MWh. This installation enables the company to optimally utilize generated solar energy, smooth out consumption peaks, and stabilize the grid.
For Van Tuijl Feed Enrichment, in the first phase, we implemented an energy storage system with two battery containers of 2 MW each. This installation enables the company to optimally utilize its own generated solar energy, smooth out consumption peaks and relieve the electricity grid. This already laid a foundation for more flexibility, stability and the batteries were already used for grid stabilization.
In a later phase, the system was further expanded with six additional modules of 215 kWh and a new transformer house. This increases the total storage capacity to 5.3 MWh at this location. This expansion demonstrates how well the energy system was set up from the start and then grows with the company’s ambitions and future energy needs.
