5.3 MWh Energy Storage System
For Van Tuijl Feed Enrichment in Opheusden, we implemented an energy storage system consisting of two battery containers of 2 MWh each. This installation enables the company to optimize the use of generated solar energy, shave peak consumption, and stabilize the grid.
In the first phase, we implemented an energy storage system for Van Tuijl Feed Enrichment featuring two battery containers of 2 MW each. This installation allows the company to optimize the use of its own generated solar energy, shave peak consumption, and reduce pressure on the electricity grid. This established a foundation for greater flexibility and stability, and the batteries were already utilized for grid stabilization.
In a later phase, the system was further expanded with six additional modules of 215 kWh and a new transformer station. This brings the total storage capacity at this location to 5.3 MWh. This expansion demonstrates how the energy system was properly designed from the start to grow alongside the company’s ambitions and future energy requirements.
