Van Tuijl Feed Enrichment, an agricultural company in Kesteren specializing in the enrichment of animal feeds, has recently been producing more than 1.1 million kWh of sustainable energy per year. Thanks to an installation of 2,928 solar panels on the sandwich roof of their building, the company reduces 503 tons of CO₂ emissions annually and significantly lowers its energy costs. Van Tuijl wanted to use the spacious roof surface to generate its own energy. However, the construction, a sandwich roof, placed specific demands on load-bearing capacity and attachment.
