2,659 Solar Panels

At TVS in Someren, Bata Energy Solutions implemented a complete solar energy system consisting of 1,405 solar panels on the roof and 1,254 floating solar panels on the water basin.
Together, these make up 2,659 panels and an impressive total capacity, with which TVS is taking major steps in making its operations more sustainable and saving costs.

Sustainable energy, double use of available land
On the roof: 1,405 panels ensure maximum utilization of the available roof surface.
On the water: 1,254 panels float on the basin, where they benefit from natural cooling and do not take up any extra land area.
By combining these two installations, the available space is used optimally and the total energy yield increases considerably.

Why floating solar panels?
The TVS water basin was largely unused, while the energy demand was increasing. By placing solar panels here:
– the land surface remains available for cultivation and business expansion
– the yield increases thanks to the cooling effect of water (+/- 10%)
– algae growth and evaporation of the basin water are reduced
