EOS for utility-scale

On this page, you will find information about the 5 MWh Huawei Luna 2000 EOS.

Introduction

The Huawei 5MWh Smart String ESS is a liquid-cooled battery integrated into a 20ft high-cube container. Thanks to the advanced cooling system, a high energy density is achieved, providing a suitable solution for a wide range of installations.

The battery integrates seamlessly with 6 or 12 units of 213kW battery inverters, allowing for the realization of both 0.25C and 0.5C systems. Due to the string design, system availability is very high, and a round-trip efficiency (RTE) of 91% can be ensured.

With cell-level monitoring, this product takes battery technology safety to a higher level. Using advanced AI technology, all battery values are accurately monitored 24/7. In the event of deviations or a potential defect, the system intervenes automatically, resulting in optimal safety and reliability.

Frequently asked questions

We notice that entrepreneurs often have questions about energy storage. Below you will find clear answers to the most common questions regarding battery systems, payback periods, subsidies, and grid congestion, specifically tailored to SME practices.

A battery system (also known as energy storage or an accumulator system) temporarily stores generated energy, for example from solar panels. This allows you to use electricity at times when it is most profitable or necessary for you – even when the grid is overloaded.

A battery can be profitable in several ways. For one company, this may be through peak shaving; for another, through participation in grid stabilization. Curious if a battery is profitable for your business? Please contact us.

A battery system (also known as energy storage or an accumulator system) temporarily stores generated energy, for example from solar panels. This allows you to use electricity at times when it is most profitable or necessary for you – even when the grid is overloaded.

The EIA (Energy Investment Allowance) applies to most energy storage systems. Furthermore, there are often provincial or regional subsidies available.

Batteries are extremely suitable for storing surplus solar energy, which can then be used at a later time.
